Our lineup of ultra-compact snow groomers comes with 2 options for attaching your snow groomer to your snowmobile or tracked ATV/UTV. It can be a bit confusing to know which hitch coupler to choose. In this article we are going to talk about which one would be the best for your specific machine and hitch.
We have 2 different snow groomer Hitch Couplers or attachments
- Pin Type Hitch Coupler
- Ring Type Hitch Coupler
Above is a picture of the Pin type and Ring type couplers we have to offer. These couplers attach to the hitch plates that are bolted to the drawbars of your snow groomers and look like this picture below.
Pin Coupler Snow Groomer Hitch Option

The Pin coupler is our most popular hitch option and can be used with more snowmobile pin-type hitches like the one pictured above. This hitch type is very common with snowmobiles.
If you are needing to tow your snow groomer with something other than a snowmobile we do have an option that will attach to a standard 2″ hitch as you see on most vehicles. This option also will work with the smaller ATV 1″ hitch size.
Snow Groomers ATV/UTV Universal Hitch

This universal hitch will work with the standard Pin Type coupler like you see on the snowmobile. You can install this under a 1″ ball or use a 3/4 bolt to tighten it to your hitch on the back of your machine.
This is our Honda Pioneer 1000 that has a 2″ receiver and we are using the ATV/UTV universal hitch with a 3/4 bolt instead of a ball. This allows us to hook our Pin Coupler to our UTV with tracks.
Ring Coupler Snow Groomer Hitch Option

The Ring-type is for when your which has a hook for the hitch. Commonly referred to a pintle hook, you can get these hitches for snowmobiles and ATV/UTV’s.
Personally, we have a pintle hook on our Ski-Doo Skandic snowmobile for towing our snow groomers around. Really the decision is up to which type of hitch you would like to have. Typically the pin type coupler is the most common for snowmobiles so lots of our customers will choose those ones.
We do have different offset sizes for our pin-type couplers and ring-type couplers.
Why do we have different hitch coupler sizes?
Your snowmobile or tracked vehicle will have different hitch receiver heights.
You want to make sure that your snow groomer drawbars are as level as possible. If you have a straight hitch coupler and your hitch receiver is too high it makes it harder for your SNO-RAZOR to work effectively and you have to adjust the PAN angle on your chassis.
You can purchase from us different hitch coupler offsets and lengths to help ensure your snow groomer is as level as possible.
