Are you a snowmobile snow groomer? There are lots of reasons why pulling your snow groomer with a snowmobile is the best option. These reasons could include the following, you have a snowmobile already and would have to buy something different to groom snow if you did not use your snowmobile. Sometimes trails are narrow and snowmobiles may be more narrow than side by sides or snowcats.
What is the right snowmobile?
- Mountain Snowmobile
- Crossover Snowmobile
- Utility Snowmobile
- Two-Up Snowmobile
Not all snowmobiles for snow grooming are created equal, there are mountain sleds, long track sleds, double-track sleds, and snowmobiles that are meant to be more of a working snowmobile than a play snowmobile. We clearly like the Ski-doo Skandic as a work machine and it can pull all our snow groomers. But you can see by the video that even our largest snow groomer can be pulled by a Yamaha Phazer. In fact, lots of our testing has been done with a Yamaha Phazer. This is done so we can prove our snow groomers work well when pulled by even smaller snowmobiles without tons of power. If your main purpose is to groom then getting a working snowmobile like an Arctic Cat bearcat or a Ski-doo Skandic is wise. You do not have to fit a hitch on because they come ready to put the hitch in.
Sometimes you just need to groom your trail from your cabin or house to the public trails. Unless that is miles, your current snowmobile will most likely work just great to groom the trails. Sometimes you just need to do small walkways but still a lot of them like ski in ski out places on ski resorts. Getting the Large snow groomers close or on these smaller trails can be tough to impossible.
Use your current snowmobile as the pulling machine for your snow groomer.
Clearly, three are many cases where buying another snowmobile just for your snow grooming needs is not really needed. Consider your needs and if you really need a different snowmobile that just plays in the snow snowmobile. Plus the proof is in the pudding that you can groom a lot of snow for sledding hills or paths or cross country skiers with the snowmobile you probably already have. Fat Bikes especially love someone to groom trails because then they do not have to break trail after a snowstorm.
The main problem with being a snowmobile snow groomer.
What often happens when you start grooming your own little trail or the road to your cabin is that others will ask you to groom theirs as well. If you love grooming then great. But some groom so that they can get places faster or get to play in the snow faster. You might just turn the main problem into a plus by saying you can be the snowmobile snow groomer and pull the groomer I have, just get my trails or hill at the same time.
Ultralight snow groomers can leave sweet snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails. Sledding hills and many other places a snow groomer is useful. The thing we want to show you by the links is that your current snowmobile is often up to the task. And your grooming can make the outing time you do have more enjoyable.
