In many of our models, we do something that we have never seen in any other snow groomers. Small or Large. Homegrown or made by professionals. That is we have a deflector plate that gets the snow down onto the razor and under the chassis which compacts the snow and leaves corduroy.  For powder conditions, our groomers are flat out the best as others do not even try to solve this issue. Snow grooming in deep powder is hard if the tools you use are not made to do it. We just might have the best tools snow grooming in deep powder there is.

The models range from small trail models we call the path master up to the sno-master 72. All of these can be bought with a razor and deflector plates that get all the snow down under the groomer. Maybe you would say it gets the groomer on top of the snow. It does not matter how you think. Both ways of thinking get the snow groomed even if it is very deep powder.

Homemade snow drags

Homemade drags or long groomers with many blades or even the super huge ski resort groomers with an auger can all be covered by snow when the snow is too deep. Now mind you the big augers have to have a lot of snow to not handle it. But the smaller ones that are pulled by a snowmobile or a side by side or even a small snowcat can easily get more snow than the groomers can handle and you get snow giving over the groomer. This can leave Clumps of snow on your trail. If these clumps of snow are wet, then it freezes and that can leave nasty things in the trail.

The other thing is in deep snow the sides of groomers may pack the snow but then the snow will fall in from the edges.  Having wings pushes the snow back and makes it way harder to have snowfall back onto your groomed trail.

SNOW Deflection for deep snow

Having the snow deflector get your groomer high enough so that snow is not going over the groomer and then having wings push the snow on the sides back really can make all the difference in a trail. The combination is not on any other snow groomers we know of.  In fact, we have never even seen someone have a groomer with anything like a snow deflector.  The sad thing is that we are not young anymore.  We have been grooming snow for decades.  The good part is we now have the tools to make great trails and not have to work as hard.

Snow deflector will help push snow under the snow compaction chassis. Key for ssnow grooming in deep powder.

Before we had one of these groomers and we used drags, the work was way harder.  You got stuck a lot more.  The trail was not nearly as good.  So it is not like we have not tried other ways to get our trails groomed.  Simply put, the snow deflector is a game-changer in grooming deep powdered snow. Snowgrooming in deep powder with the snow deflector will not let all the snow just go over the groomer.

Snow Groomer Wheel Kit

Some people use a wheel or a roller to go over fresh powder and pack it down.  Then they come back later and groom it.  So you might say there are those who try to solve this issue.  But you still get clumps falling in from the side. We have seen people pull these in tandem.  But the work on the towing machine is much greater than just one groomer.  Or you can go over it twice.  None of these options are efficient and leave as good a trail in our view.  It is a big pain if you get stuck pulling things in tandem and getting stuck is much more common when pulling in deep powder.

When you add weight to our groomers and get stuck it is easy to remove the weight then get unstuck and put the weight back on.  Again though you get stuck way less often with our groomers.

Rollers versus the deflector plate are simple.  If the trail is flat then the roller can do ok.  But when your trail is sloped the roller likes to go to the bottom of the trail much more so than the groomer with a snow deflector.

Snow grooming in deep powder designs.

We are not trying to beat up on other’s efforts to groom snow.  We are saying our experience shows a snow groomer tool pulled with a snowmobile or a side by side in deep powder is superb.  There is nothing out there that compares to a groomer with a deflector to get all the snow under the groomer and wings to keep the trail from having sides that fall in.

Specifically, narrow trails being groomed by a snowmobile pulling a groomer in deep powder just works very well.  There is literally nothing like it for leaving great groomed trails.  You just do not have snow clumps on the trail and you can do it in one pass.  During your single-pass, our groomers are way less worry as you do not get stuck near as much. When. snow grooming in deep powder you need wings to keep the excess snow on the sides of the trails from falling into the trail.

A Sno cat can often go where a side by side cannot.  So if you just have crazy places to go a Sno cat can be awesome.

For the dog sledders snow grooming in deep powder just makes all the difference running the dogs. The deep powder can literal make it so the dogs cannot run.
